Bark Library

Bark Library is a Tony Bark’s self-hosted online publication.

Background

Tony Bark has a submitted a variety of short comics and literature on art communities since his early teens. However, he yearned for a way to publish them independently of those platform.

It wasn't until he discovered OJS (Open Journal Software) on YunoHost that he decided it may be wroth self-hosting his own and publishing his works from there. He demoed it both from the publicly available site and locally just to make sure. Bark theorized that although it was intended for scholars, it could be used as the digital equivalent of pulp magazines and created Bark Library. All he had to do was remove the indexing features.

His first attempt was by a journal for publishing his copies of the Wuffle, Piti Yindee's public domain comic books. The Archive.org listing for Wuffle provided enough assets to test to the infrastructure. Bark later reintroduced TPaw as a journal for publishing his original works. The latter of which serves as a return to form for when it was initially known as Tigerpaw Studios.
